Call for Papers

“Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced” – James Baldwin

Lancaster University is committed to creating a fairer and more inclusive University for all staff, students, visitors and our wider university community, where equality, diversity and inclusion is an integral part of our University’s plans and activities. We recognise that we all have a key role toplay in making this a reality. Under the Equality Act 2010, it is against the law to discriminate against someone because of:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment
  • Marriage and civil partnership
  • Pregnancy and maternity
  • Race
  • Religion or belief
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation

The English Literature and Creative Writing department EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) Committee is calling for papers and panels that focus on, explore, and move beyond the six protected characteristics. This call includes papers on age, belonging, disability, gender, identity, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race and racism, religion or belief, and sexuality…
